Long Island Lifeguard is a listing platform. When you find a job, gig, or instructor here, you're connecting directly with that employer, family, or worker — not with us.

We don't employ, screen, vet, supervise, or insure anyone listed on this site. We don't handle payment between parties. Hiring, scheduling, and payment happen directly between you and the other person — the responsibility sits with both of you.

There are no background checks or vetting guarantees in this version of the site. Arrange every connection safely and on your own terms.

A note for parents and for young workers

Many lifeguards and swim instructors on this site are teenagers (minimum age 15). That's normal — lifeguarding is often a first job, and most certification courses are open to 15-year-olds. We want every connection to go smoothly, so here's what we recommend:

For families hiring a young guard or instructor:

  • Have a phone or video call before agreeing to anything — make sure you're comfortable with who you're hiring.
  • Meet for the first time in a public or well-known setting (a pool, a rec center, or your front yard — not a secluded location).
  • For a private gig at your home, a parent or guardian of the worker should know the location and be reachable.

For workers under 18:

  • Loop in a parent or guardian before accepting any gig — especially a private event or home lesson.
  • Talk or video-call with the family first so you know who you're going to.
  • For a private gig at someone's home, bring a parent or have them nearby and reachable.

By creating an account or connecting through Long Island Lifeguard you agree to these terms. You accept that all hiring, scheduling, and payment is arranged directly between the parties and that Long Island Lifeguard is a connect-only platform with no employment relationship, vetting guarantee, or liability for outcomes.
